Construction of Palm Jebel Ali Island resumes in Dubai

Construction of Palm Jebel Ali Island resumes in Dubai

The ambitious project of creating the artificial Palm Jebel Ali Island will resume in Dubai. The large-scale construction was first announced in 2002 but was suspended indefinitely due to the 2008 economic recession. Now, as the Dubai real estate market recovers and expands, the emirate’s authorities have decided to resume construction.

The new palm tree-shaped island will become another Dubai landmark and feature superb beaches, hotels, resorts, attractions and theme parks. It will extend the emirate’s coastline by a further 110 kilometres.

The residential development on Palm Jebel Ali will include premium apartments and duplexes and luxurious mansions. About a third of the public buildings will be powered by renewable sources.
